Here is a collection of my work done for motion graphics I. There are three larger assigments and seven smaller, supplemental technical exercises. I came into this course with zero experience in animation and time-based media, so it was difficult to get a running start. But as we dove into the assigments I found myself thrilled to create these small, moving worlds.
Using effects and animation presets in order to curate a specific aesthetic was where I was most confident. I also particulary enjoyed working with sound and sound design. Making sure sounds came in at exactly the right frame and culminating sounds together to create a sound landscape were some of my favorite moments. My challenges came with my limited knowledge of Adobe After Effects. Because it is an entry course, I had visions for a project that were diffuclt to fulfil in practice. Additionally, as a designer working mostly with static designs, sometimes it was difficult to push out of those boundaries and plan an animation's trajectory. All in all, I would love to continue working with animation. There something about breathing life into an idea, in the form of animation, that is refreshing and exciting.
